Green Screen
Inspiration:
Most Important Point of This Project: Being able to learn the technical skills necessary to include green screen footage in a project:
Required Elements
General workflow strategies and requirements:
Make sure you have a Plot! (Not sure what "Plot" is? Play a quick round of Plot, No Plot to test your knowledge!)
- Screen prep
- Awareness during framing of action in front of screen
- Matching green screen camera angle with camera angle of underlying footage
- Using the Keying Effect in Final Cut
- Using masks to create depth of green screened subject embedded in your background
Required Elements
- A plot (See below)
- At no time, ever, will an actor laugh or smile. DO NOT USE ANY CLIP THAT HAS THIS. Why? Ask me!
- Green-screened elements
General workflow strategies and requirements:
- Brainstorm ideas for a plot. Do this on paper. (Required)
- Construct a written plot. This doesn't have to be detailed--think of it as an outline for the story. (Required)
- Create a Storyboard (Required)
- Shoot scenes for the day AND upload that footage the SAME day.
Make sure you have a Plot! (Not sure what "Plot" is? Play a quick round of Plot, No Plot to test your knowledge!)
- Plots are good! But this project is mostly about the creative use of the green screen tool and the technical prowess to make it work, but we do like to watch something with a plot, so yes!
