15 Shots
Become familiar with shot types and their terminology!
What you will do:
There's only one rule for your human subject: NO ACTOR SHALL SMILE, GIGGLE OR LAUGH DURING ANY SHOT!
Why? Ask me! So instead, let's see some realistic expressions of FEAR, SORROW, TEARFUL JOY, ANGER, DISAPPOINTMENT, CONFUSION, BEWILDERMENT, LOVE, EXCITEMENT, ANTICIPATION, STOICISM, CREEPINESS (without smiling), EMPATHY, AUTHORITY, or SHEEPISHNESS.
Don't worry! Here's what I will cover in class before you begin:
SHOWTIME IS MONDAY, Oct 22

Don't worry! Here's what I will cover in class before you begin:
- How to use the camera and tripod(s)
- The basics about our video editor, Final Cut Pro X and iMovie, including creating a project, uploading footage, creating titles and adding transitions.
- Expectations about leaving the room to go shoot video outside the classroom.
- How important it is to UPLOAD YOUR FOOTAGE EVERY DAY. Do not expect your video clips to still be in the iPad the next day.

Extra Credit Opportunities (These are things to do AFTER you've fulfilled all the requirements!):
SHOWTIME IS MONDAY, Oct 22
- Either in writing, in pictures, or by explaining to me in person (outside of class), describe what happens when you apply a "cross-dissolve" transition between clips in the storyline, and what happens when you try to apply a cross-dissolve to original clip(s) being used in their entirety.
- Add to the shot list by doing combinations of individual shots listed in the original assignment list
- Experiment with super long cross dissolves, reinvent the "match cut", use motion blur to hide a transition, do ALL the shots in a single take, etc, etc
